Question your doctor or pharmacist.
I agree, you need to question an expert in the field, in other words a doctor or pharmacist. Don’t take chances!!!
Talk to the doctor who gave you the perscriptions. He/She can clarify why you are taking them and whether they can be taken together.
If you have perscriptions for both from a doctor, take them as perscribed until you can talk to the doctor.
Talk to your doctor about any other concerns you may have about your medication. Maybe, make a list of your questions so you won’t not remember. Never use medication based on what “everybody says” – entrust your doctor and your parents.
You need to call the number on the bottle and question.
Why do you have to question? Didn’t you get them from the same doctor? Didn’t your doctor tell you? Call your doctor and question.
The 2 drugs are not not compulsory to be taken together without dr. supervision. Quoted from drugs.com
“MONITOR: The coadministration with methylphenidate may increase the plasma concentrations of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). According to the manufacturer, human pharmacologic studies have shown that methylphenidate may inhibit the metabolism of SSRIs, and there have been reports that methylphenidate augments the clinical response to SSRIs.”
