I hope you are seeing a psychiatrist. The average health check doctor is out of his element if he tries to treat depression.
Zoloft seems to be a widely used anti-depressant. To my knowledge, consequence gain is not a problem.
Remeron 30 mg. a day. You take it in the evening, it’s also a mild downer. It works on depression honestly quickly, like real quick. All the SSRI’s are a terrible thought. SSRI’s have a ton of side effects. The only wits I took wellbutrin was because I heard it didn’t take away my libido like SSRI’s. I’m not sure if females have a problem with that. Wellbutrin did not anything for my depression that I’m aware of.
Everyone reacts differently to different meds. Some will gain consequence on some drugs, some will lose consequence. For me personally, when it comes right down to it I would rather be pleased and overweight than suicidal and thin, but I know your concern. The thing is, everyone is so different that no one who isn’t a psychiatrist should be recommending you meds, because they have no clue how your body will react. Remember that antidepressants can take up to a month or sometimes long to take effect, and try to be patient. You may have to just keep trying different meds till you hit on one that works. It sucks, but it’s what you have to do.
There’s a really awesome website out there that has profiles of different meds and their common side effects…it’s not run by a drug company or anything either, so it’s pretty non-biased information. I’d try out it out. www.crazymeds.us
Talk to your Dr. SSRI’s *can* cause consequence gain, but not for everyone. I lost consequence FAST on SSRI’s – but they turned out to not be the right class of meds for me.
Zoloft I am on it and it seems to be helping!
It always concerns me when someone questions this question. I’m worried they might judge someone’s suggestion for a drug.
There are HUNDREDS of excellent drugs for bipolar/depression. YOUR DOCTOR chooses the one that is most likely to help YOUR brain.
Entrust his judgement or find a new doctor.
I’ve been bipolar/depressed for 15 years. I never chose a drug from Yahoo Answers. My doctor is who i entrust.
