I hаνе аn exceptionally high blood pressure аnd recently over thе past 3 months noticed thаt one οf mу eyes hаѕ suddenly gotten blurry. I don’t gο tο thе doctor bесаυѕе аll thеу ѕау іѕ “blah blah blood pressure blah blah” Iѕ thеrе a link. Thе doctors οnlу seem tο want tο mаkе a buck οff οf mу high blood pressure? Hοw саn I gеt аn unbiased opinion?
сοοl аnѕwеrѕ! keep em comming esp іf уου rесkοn anyone іѕ incorrect! Mу issue іѕ wіth one eye οnlу, аnd іt seems abrubpt. Sο іt іѕ a noticible chat.
Thіѕ group dodged thе obvious “duh, see a doctor” аnѕwеr аnd provided ѕοmе extra info! Thanks!
Get seen!!! tomorrow. There is beyond doubt a REAL risk to your thought, and it’s too precious to take a opportunity with.
if your blood pressure is very and i do mean very high it could bring the occular pressur up in your eyes usually it would be both eyes but you should see an optamologist because you might have glocoma
Just go to a regular eye doctor (optometrist) and he might refer you to an ophtalmologist. The optometrist will be more biased towards your eye and not so much your blood pressure, plus all he really can get from you is an eye prescription, so he’ll tell it to you straight. There has to be a link, dude. Blood pressure affects nearly everything.
an “Unbiased” opinion?
if anything, the doctor’s opinion is biased towards your welfare, moron.
YES there is a link. A direct link. Hypertensive Retinopathy is very real. Some of those “blah, blah, blah’s” you mentioned was doubtless your doctor telling you about this fact. This is very sad. We tell you not to smoke, wear your seat belts, exercise, watch what you eat..etc., but we still seem to be taking care of patients with lung cancer, victims of auto accidents, the obese, etc.
If I had a nickel for everytime I heard a patient say that I’m only trying to make a buck off of them, THEN I’d be wealthy. We don’t work off of commission, it’s not like doctors just make diagnoses according to how much money they need to bring in.
The public who are really out there trying to MAKE A BUCK off of your poor health tend to sell supplements that are supposedly “excellent for everything”.
Don’t waste more time while your thought get’s worse. Go back to your doctor, listen, and do what he tells you. Leave the supplements lonely.
High Blood Pressure causes retinal changes in the eye.The fundus of the eye is affected so your thought. So better consult an Opthalmologist.
There beyond doubt is a link between high BP & eye sight. If left untreated, it can cause severe hurt to the retina (the back of the eye that sends visual info to the brain). It can also increase your risk of developing glaucoma. You need to see an eye doctor (optometrist or ophthalmologist) and your fundamental care doctor. You first of all need to get your high blood pressure under control. Secondly, you need to have your eyes examined to make sure that you don’t have any of these problems (and if you do, to be treated for them).
As a side note, doctors do not make money from writing prescriptions. If you are not confident in your doctor’s diagnosis, you should seek a second opinion.
